Kollywood superstar Suriya has officially started shooting for his highly anticipated 46th film, currently titled Suriya 46.
The actor recently arrived in Hyderabad to begin filming and was spotted at the airport with his daughter, Diya, in a rare public appearance that quickly went viral.
According to Times Now, the film’s production has kicked off, marking the first collaboration between Suriya and Telugu director Venky Atluri.
High Hopes for a Blockbuster
The film, produced by Sithara Entertainments, began production a few weeks after its official launch ceremony. The makers announced the start of the shoot on social media with a post that read, “The first step towards celebration, emotion and entertainment”.
Reports suggest the movie will be filmed at a fast pace and is expected to wrap up in three months. Fans are buzzing with excitement, especially after a still from the set, reportedly showing Suriya gearing up for an action sequence, went viral online.
Star-Studded Cast and Crew
Venky Atluri, known for successful films like Vaathi starring Dhanush and Lucky Baskhar with Dulquer Salmaan, is directing this project. The film features a strong cast, including Mamitha Baiju of Premalu fame as the female lead.
Bollywood star Raveena Tandon and veteran actress Radikaa Sarathkumar will also be seen in important roles. The music is composed by the popular G.V. Prakash Kumar, who is working with Suriya again after the acclaimed Soorarai Pottru and with Venky Atluri for the third time.
Will This Be Suriya’s Big Comeback?
Fans have high expectations for Suriya 46, hoping it will end what some consider a box office dry spell for the actor.
While Suriya’s recent films have received mixed responses, this powerful collaboration with a hit-making director is seen as a recipe for success. The film is scheduled for release in the summer of 2026.
