Rajkummar Rao’s latest film, ‘Srikanth,’ is set to release on Netflix India on July 5.
This biopic tells the remarkable journey of Srikanth Bolla, a visually challenged entrepreneur who founded Bollant Industries. Born blind in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth overcame multiple challenges to achieve his dreams.
‘Srikanth’ hit theatres on May 10 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences.
Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film features a powerful cast including Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar.
Srikanth Bolla’s story is one of victory against odds. After being rejected by the Indian Institute of Technology, he became the first visually impaired international student at MIT.
After graduating, he returned to India and founded Bollant Industries, which provides employment for many disabled people and focuses on eco-friendly products.
Rajkummar Rao, an actor known for his versatility, brings Srikanth’s character to life. The film also features Jyothika as Srikanth’s supportive teacher and Alaya F as his girlfriend, who is always there for him.
Rajkummar Rao shared his thoughts on the role, saying, “Playing Srikanth Bolla was both challenging and inspiring.” Spending time with visually impaired individuals and understanding their perspective was necessary for playing the character properly.”
