Prabhas’ ‘The Raja Saab’ Faces Further Delays: Director Maruthi Reveals CGI Challenges

Published:

In a significant update that has rippled through the Indian film industry, director Maruthi has finally broken his silence on the much-anticipated release of Prabhas-starrer ‘The Raja Saab‘.

The pan-Indian horror comedy, initially scheduled for April 10, 2025 release, has been postponed due to extensive post-production work, particularly CGI elements that are crucial to the film.

Temple Visit Sparks Fan Interaction

The update came after Maruthi shared photos from his visit to Tirupati and Srikalahasti temples in Andhra Pradesh on April 8, 2025.

When curious fans inquired about the film’s release timeline, the director provided a candid response about the current status of the project.

To give the accurate info @peoplemediafcy on that job. Expecting CG output soon once those are verified makers will announce the release date, many external things will involve in this process, it’s not a one man word or work so things will take, Be Lil patient, everyone is giving their best to match ur expectations,” Maruthi explained in his social media response.

Post-Production Challenges

The filmmaker revealed that ‘The Raja Saab‘ is currently in the post-production phase. The team is awaiting CGI outputs for verification before an official release date can be announced.

Maruthi says the film involves extensive VFX work, and the team is taking additional time to ensure flawless visual effects.

Reports indicate that only a small portion of the talkie parts and songs remain to be shot. The director has assured fans that once filming is complete, the songs will surely entertain audiences.

Star-Studded Cast in Unique Roles

‘The Raja Saab’ features Prabhas reportedly in a dual role, marking his first venture into the horror-comedy genre.

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar in pivotal roles, with Sanjay Dutt playing the antagonist.

Release Timeline Speculation

While no official release date has been announced, various reports offer conflicting information.

Some sources suggest the film might release later in 2025, while an exclusive report claims ‘The Raja Saab’ might be pushed to Sankranthi 2026 due to a crowded release schedule in the latter half of 2025 and alleged financial troubles at People Media Factory, the production house behind the film.

Will this extended wait for ‘The Raja Saab’ impact Prabhas’ streak after his recent success with ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, or will the additional time in post-production result in a visual spectacle worth the wait?
