Emergency Arrives on OTT

Emergency, Kangana Ranaut’s biographical political drama, is now streaming on Netflix. The film was originally expected to hit OTT on March 17. However, it surprised fans by releasing early on March 14, aligning with Holi.

On Instagram, Kangana shared a poster announcing the OTT release. She captioned it with, “A nation, a decision, an emergency. Emergency ab Netflix par aa gayi hai, zaroor dekhiye.

Kangana’s Directorial Challenge

In a conversation with News18, Kangana spoke about her experience directing Emergency. She admitted to making several wrong choices throughout her career. Directing this film was one of those challenging decisions, she confessed.

Reflecting on past movies like Kissa Kursi Ka, Kangana drew parallels. She noted how films about Mrs Gandhi are rare and underestimated the task.

A Star-Studded Cast

Emergency stars Kangana as the late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, and Milind Soman in pivotal roles.

Anupam Kher’s portrayal of Jayaprakash Narayan adds depth to the film, while Shreyas Talpade plays Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Set during the 21-month emergency period from 1975 to 1977, the film delves into a crucial time in Indian history. This portrayal offers viewers a chance to relive those significant events.
