The rapper's simple heart emoji post escalated into a controversial "make babies" remark, dividing fans and critics across social media platforms.

Indian rapper Badshah found himself at the center of a social media storm after what began as an innocent appreciation post turned into a highly controversial comment about international pop star Dua Lipa.

The controversy started on June 6, 2025, when Badshah posted a simple message on X (formerly Twitter) that read “Dua Lipa ❤️“. The post initially appeared to be a straightforward expression of admiration for the global pop sensation.

The Comment That Sparked Outrage

The situation quickly escalated when a curious fan asked Badshah if he was planning a musical collaboration with Dua Lipa. Instead of addressing the collaboration question professionally, Badshah responded with: “I’d rather make babies with her, bro“.

Badshah Comment

This unexpected and inappropriate response immediately triggered a massive backlash across social media platforms. Critics labeled the comment as “cheap,” “creepy,” and “disgusting“. One user wrote: “EWWWWW, what a creep. Women really can’t catch a break online or in real life“.

Public Reaction and Criticism

The rapper faced severe criticism from multiple angles. Social media users pointed out that Badshah is a 39-year-old married father with a daughter named Jessemy, making his comment even more inappropriate. Critics also noted that Dua Lipa is currently in a relationship with British actor Callum Turner.

Some users made harsh comparisons, with one writing: “Weight ke sath brain bhi loss hogaya iska (Along with weight, his brain also got lost)”. Another added: “You’re one tweet away from turning from a rapper into a registered offender“.

Badshah’s Defense Falls Flat

Rather than apologizing, Badshah attempted to defend his comment on June 7, 2025. He posted: “I think one of the most beautiful compliments that you could give to a woman that you really admire is to wish for her to mother your children. Meri soch nahi tumhari soch saamne aayi hai (It is your thinking that has come to the fore, not my thinking)”.

Badshah Reply

This defense only intensified the backlash. Users called it a “wahiyat cover-up” (terrible cover-up) and criticized him further. One person wrote: “That was a clever way to defend and hide your crude remarks about wanting to get another woman pregnant. Grow up, weirdo!“.

The incident has overshadowed Badshah’s recent physical transformation, where he reportedly lost over 20 kg through exercise and dietary changes. The rapper is currently preparing for The Un-Finished Tour in the US, starting September 5 in Virginia and concluding September 20 in Chicago.

Will this controversy affect Badshah’s upcoming tour and his reputation in the entertainment industry?
