Ajay Devgn Returns as IRS Officer in Raid 2 Trailer: Set for Epic Showdown with Riteish Deshmukh

The much-awaited trailer of Raid 2 has finally been released, showcasing Ajay Devgn reprising his role as fearless Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Amay Patnaik.

This time, he’s taking on a corrupt politician played by Riteish Deshmukh in what promises to be an intense political crime thriller.

A Bigger, Bolder Raid

In the 2-minute 34-second trailer released on April 8, 2025, Ajay Devgn‘s character embarks on his 75th raid, targeting the home of powerful politician Dada Manohar Bhai, portrayed by Riteish Deshmukh.

The stakes are higher this time with ₹4200 crores on the line, as teased in the film’s tagline: “Iss baar baazi hogi sabse badi!”

The trailer cleverly connects to the 2018 original film, where Amay raided the residence of Rameshwar Singh (played by Saurabh Shukla) and uncovered black money hidden in a temple.

With Singh now behind bars, Amay faces an adversary in Deshmukh’s character, who happens to be Rameshwar Singh’s nephew.

Star-Studded Cast

While Ajay Devgn returns as the protagonist, Vaani Kapoor replaces Ileana D’Cruz from the first film. The sequel also features an impressive supporting cast including Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak (who plays Riteish’s mother), and Amit Sial.

Behind the Camera

Raj Kumar Gupta, who directed the first installment, returns to helm the sequel. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, and presented by T-Series.

Originally scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, the film was delayed due to post-production work and is now set to hit theaters on May 1, 2025.

The trailer has already generated significant excitement among fans who are eager to see if the sequel will match or surpass the success of the original Raid from 2018.
